Indie Essentials

I was scanning through my Itunes for my newer finds today. I decided that what the blog really needs is a list of the greatest indie artists. The basics.
Essential artists of the day:

1. Bon Iver: (If you say you are a lover of indie music, and do not know who Bon Iver is, you need to rethink your claim). Although, he has recently been on the New Moon Soundtrack, he still earns the number one spot for me. His melodies are perfect and lyrics quote-worthy. Also, it's pronounced Bon Hiver people! (Good Winter)
Favorite Tunes: Skinny Love, Re:Stacks, Bracket WI, Flume, Blood Blank

2. Sufjan Stevens: (the same as above)
Sufjan has been a personal favorite for years. If you can get past the fact that his songs aresometimes heavily influenced by Christianity you'll love him too.
Favorite Tunes: Casimir Pulaski Day, For The Widows in Paradise For the Fatherless in Ypsilanti, Sister Winter, A Good Man is Hard to Find, The Perpetual Self

I'll continue the list over the next few days (with some less obvious picks)
